“A Glimpse Into The Black Fashion Scene” is a project that looks to document a moment in the history of Black fashion whilst asking us to rethink how we engage with fashion in contemporary America in a critical way. It is not only about the clothes, but about the bodies that make it and wear it.
For this project I wanted the design and layout to not take away from the stories reported on. Therefore, I strove to emulate fashion magazine designs, as a nod to the contents of the work whilst keeping a minimal and sleek design that served the storytelling of the zine.
